Year 1 Supply Teacher – Primary (Southampton & Hampshire)

About the role

Reed is seeking enthusiastic Year 1 supply teachers for primary schools across Hampshire. The role offers flexible, day‑to‑day teaching assignments with immediate start dates, allowing you to support young learners while enjoying a balanced work schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Year 1 lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment and manage pupil behaviour.
• Assess and record pupil progress, attendance and daily achievements.
• Collaborate with permanent staff to ensure continuity of learning.
• Adapt teaching approaches to suit the needs of different schools and pupils.

Required profile

• Relevant classroom experience, preferably with early‑year pupils.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Adaptability to work in a variety of school settings.
• Proactive, professional attitude and passion for Year 1 education.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
