Year 1 Teacher (Maternity Cover)

About the role

A large 3‑form entry primary school in Hayes is seeking a Year 1 Teacher for a maternity cover from October 2026 to July 2027. The role is full‑time, teaching within Key Stage 1 and working as part of an established year‑group team.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress.
• Work alongside the year‑group and wider teaching team.
• Maintain effective classroom management and high expectations.
• Support pupils’ academic and personal development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and primary teaching experience.
• Experience teaching Year 1 or KS1 preferred.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a year‑group team.
• ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply.
