Year 1 Teacher – Primary School (Greenwich)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Greenwich from September. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons for Key Stage 1 pupils, fostering confidence and a love of learning in a supportive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, curriculum‑aligned lessons for Year 1 students.
• Assess pupil progress and provide targeted feedback.
• Maintain effective classroom behaviour management.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, colleagues and senior leadership.
• Communicate regularly with parents about pupil development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Recent experience teaching in a primary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Commitment to inclusive, pupil‑centred education.

Required skills

• Ability to design and deliver engaging lessons for early learners.
• Effective communication with pupils, parents and staff.
• Proficiency in using classroom technology and resources.
