Year 1 Teacher – Primary School (Leeds)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a Good-rated primary school in South Leeds, commencing September 2026. The role is full-time for an initial two-term period, with the opportunity to secure a direct contract with the school thereafter. The school prides itself on a strong community feel, dedicated staff and governors, and a commitment to preparing pupils for secondary education.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality teaching and learning for Year 1 pupils.
• Maintain strong classroom management and organisational standards.
• Assess pupil progress, provide constructive feedback and adapt lessons to meet diverse needs.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, governors and support staff.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and the wider school community.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a current DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Passionate, hardworking and committed to raising high academic standards.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Strong organisational and classroom management abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
