Year 1 Teacher – Primary School (South London)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a two-form entry Church of England primary school in South London. The role starts in September 2026 and is full-time and permanent, supporting pupils as they move from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that foster curiosity and a love of learning.
• Support pupils’ transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1, ensuring a smooth progression.
• Create an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment where every child can thrive.
• Collaborate with a teaching partner and the wider Key Stage 1 team to develop the curriculum.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.

Required profile

• Strong classroom practitioner with high expectations for all children.
• Good knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and early reading/phonics practice.
• Passionate about children’s learning, wellbeing and personal development.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Team-player who contributes to the wider life of the school and respects its Christian ethos.

Required skills
