Year 1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Chatham)

About the role

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Chatham. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a long‑term, temporary placement within a nurturing environment where staff are valued and teamwork is encouraged.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils in a Year 1 classroom alongside the class teacher.
• Deliver engaging learning activities and provide 1:1 or small‑group assistance as needed.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support pupil development.
• Help maintain a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children in a school setting.
• Positive, patient, and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
