Year 2 Class Teacher – Primary School (Full‑time)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Year 2 Class Teacher to join a well‑established primary school in Kensington and Chelsea. The role starts in September 2026 on a one‑year fixed‑term (maternity) contract and offers the chance to work within a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for Year 2 pupils across the KS1 curriculum.
- Maintain a calm, structured classroom and manage behaviour effectively.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers and colleagues.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, ensuring high expectations for achievement.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum.
- Proven experience teaching Year 2 or KS1 pupils, including managing diverse needs and behavioural challenges.
- Resilient, proactive and able to work within a senior‑leadership‑driven school culture.
Required skills
- Strong subject knowledge in reading, writing and mathematics.
- Effective classroom management techniques.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for varied learner abilities.
