Year 2 Supply Teacher – Tunbridge Wells

About the role

Hays Education is partnering with primary schools in Tunbridge Wells to recruit enthusiastic Year 2 teachers on a supply basis. The role starts immediately and offers both long‑term and day‑to‑day assignments, allowing you to support pupils as they consolidate Key Stage 1 learning and prepare for Key Stage 2.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging literacy, numeracy and communication lessons for Year 2 classes.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and independence.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to support attainment.
• Manage behaviour effectively and uphold school policies.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and leadership teams to enhance student outcomes.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, preferably Year 2.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Commitment to pupil progress and inclusive education.
• Enthusiasm, patience and a passion for teaching.

Required skills

• Ability to design and deliver creative, age‑appropriate lessons.
• Effective communication with pupils, parents and staff.
