Year 2 Teacher (2‑term cover)

About the role

Hays Education is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Wigan to find a motivated Year 2 Teacher for a two‑term cover starting September 2026. The role offers the chance to work in a supportive, community‑focused environment and may be extended to a full academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons aligned with the KS1 national curriculum.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress.
• Create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, teaching assistants and parents.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 or lower Key Stage 2.
• Strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development.
• Ability to engage and inspire young learners.
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• Proactive and collaborative approach to teaching.
