Year 2 Teacher – Full‑Time Fixed‑Term (Clitheroe)

About the role

Join a welcoming primary school in Clitheroe as a Year 2 Teacher on a fixed‑term contract starting September 2026. You will help children transition confidently into Key Stage 2 by delivering engaging, creative and ambitious lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver well‑structured lessons covering phonics, reading, writing and mathematics for Year 2.
• Assess pupil progress using effective assessment strategies and adapt teaching accordingly.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and presentation in the classroom.
• Collaborate with the Key Stage 1 team to ensure continuity of learning and support for each child.
• Foster independence, resilience and a love of learning in all pupils.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
• Strong knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum and end‑of‑Key‑Stage‑1 expectations.
• Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to high standards.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
