Year 4 Teacher

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with well‑organised primary schools in Leyland and South Ribble to place a confident Year 4 Teacher from September 2026. The role can be full‑time or part‑time, matching your availability, and focuses on delivering the KS2 National Curriculum with creativity and rigour.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver KS2 lessons for Year 4, emphasizing times‑tables fluency, reading for pleasure, written composition and mathematical reasoning.
• Use assessment data to personalise learning, design interventions and track pupil progress.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCO and EAL staff to support pupils with SEND and EAL.
• Share planning across the year group to ensure consistent expectations and manageable workload.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Proven KS2 teaching experience, preferably in Years 3‑5.
• Familiarity with the Multiplication Tables Check and strategies for building times‑tables fluency.
• Strong subject knowledge across core and foundation subjects at KS2 level.
• Experience of differentiation for mixed‑ability, SEND and EAL groups.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding and child‑protection knowledge.
