Year 5 Teacher – Autumn Term (Woodford, Redbridge)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Year 5 teacher for an Autumn‑term placement in a vibrant two‑form entry primary school in Woodford, Redbridge. The successful candidate will take charge of a settled Year 5 class that has progressed together from Year 4 and will guide them through the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum, with a focus on Upper KS2 content.
• Assess pupil progress, provide targeted feedback and support to ensure high academic achievement.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to whole‑school initiatives.
• Participate in parent‑teacher meetings and school events as required.

Required profile

• Qualified primary teacher with experience teaching Key Stage 2; newly qualified teachers (ECTs) are not eligible.
• Strong knowledge of the Upper KS2 curriculum and assessment standards.
• Reflective practitioner with proven classroom effectiveness.
• Commitment to high expectations, inclusive practice and pupil welfare.

Required skills
