About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant to join a modern primary school in Basildon. The role is full‑time, term‑time only, and runs from September 2026 to July 2027, supporting pupils across Years 5 and 6.
Key responsibilities
- Support classroom teaching to raise attainment and improve the quality of learning.
- Deliver targeted English and maths interventions.
- Assist pupils with special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia and speech‑language difficulties.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
Required profile
- Strong academic background and confidence in a classroom setting.
- Willingness to go above and beyond for pupils and the school.
- Engaging personality with the ability to use initiative.
