Year 6 Teacher – Part‑time, Southwark

About the role

A welcoming primary school in Southwark is looking for a part‑time Year 6 teacher to start in September 2026. The role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys supporting Key Stage 2 learners and preparing them for the transition to secondary school.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop literacy, numeracy and independent learning skills.
• Establish clear routines and positive behaviour expectations in the classroom.
• Use assessment data to identify next steps and support pupils of all abilities.
• Build strong partnerships with families and collaborate with colleagues on shared planning.
• Prepare pupils for end‑of‑key‑stage assessments and the move to secondary school.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 6 experience desirable but not essential).
• Ability to create a fair, respectful and encouraging learning environment.
• Commitment to consistent communication and professional collaboration.
