Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Full Time (Preston)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Preston for the upcoming academic year. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, supporting a Year 6 classroom as pupils prepare for SATs and transition to secondary school.
Key responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning within a Year 6 classroom.
- Work with small groups and individual pupils to raise attainment.
- Assist pupils in preparing for end‑of‑year assessments and SATs.
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
- Support the class teacher in delivering high‑quality learning experiences.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant within KS2.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Year 6 curriculum.
- Excellent behaviour management skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A proactive and confident approach to classroom support.
