Young Carers Project Worker

About the role

Centre 33 is seeking a dedicated Young Carers Project Worker to join its Young Carers service across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. You will provide direct support to young carers and collaborate with professionals to raise awareness and strengthen partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the needs of young carers through face‑to‑face meetings.
• Deliver one‑to‑one support and facilitate group activities.
• Promote the Young Carers service to schools, health providers and community organisations.
• Develop and maintain partnership working with local agencies.
• Travel to various sites in Huntingdonshire, Peterborough and wider Cambridgeshire as required.

Required profile

• Extensive experience working with young people or in youth‑focused services.
• Full, clean driving licence and access to a car (essential).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to undergo DBS checks and provide references.

Required skills

• Strong assessment and communication skills.
• Experience of delivering group‑based support.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
