Young Person Support Worker – Redcar (Part‑time)

About the role

This part‑time, temporary position supports children and young people in residential and community settings around Redcar and Middlesbrough. You will work within a minimum 2:1 staffing ratio, ensuring safety and delivering personalised care across day, night and respite shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide physical and emotional support, including personal hygiene and household tasks.
• Assist with daily routines such as waking, bedtime, education attendance and appointments.
• Maintain detailed daily notes covering emotions, interactions, food diaries and any concerns.
• Support the development of life‑skills, money management and participation in activities.
• Contribute to support plans, risk assessments, incident reporting and ensure compliance.
• Identify and report safeguarding issues promptly.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to write comprehensive daily records.
• Emotional resilience and problem‑solving skills.
• Professional, non‑judgemental attitude toward diverse needs.
• Experience working with SEMH needs, physical or learning disabilities is advantageous.
