Young Person's Project Officer

About the role

The Young Person's Project Officer will provide one‑to‑one support, group work and practical assistance to young people aged 16‑24 within a housing association. This full‑time, temporary position works a 35‑hour week on a rotating schedule between 8 am and 8 pm, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual support, group sessions and advice to young people, helping them build confidence and independence.
• Supervise young people while they are in the service and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
• Cover reception duties when required and attend external appointments on behalf of the service.
• Maintain accurate records, signpost to external services and provide practical assistance as needed.
• Support safeguarding processes and manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people in a support, housing, youth work or community setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust.
• Confidence delivering one‑to‑one support and group sessions.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and risk awareness.
• Flexibility to work shifts between 8 am‑8 pm.
• Enhanced DBS with both barred lists.
