Young Persons Recovery Worker – Fixed Term (Part‑time)

About the role

Join Turning Point’s Herefordshire Substance Use Service as a Young Persons Recovery Worker, delivering person‑centred support to 11‑18‑year‑olds on a 12‑month fixed‑term, part‑time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Support a caseload of young people aged 11‑18, conducting assessments and developing person‑centred recovery plans.
• Deliver evidence‑based substance‑use interventions in groups and one‑to‑one sessions, face‑to‑face, by phone or video.
• Provide training and educational sessions for professionals, young people and families to raise awareness of harm reduction and promote treatment access.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies such as Youth Offending Teams, schools, police, children’s homes and social services.
• Travel across Herefordshire to meet service users and partners; a full UK driving licence and vehicle are required.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively with young people.
• Highly organised, efficient and passionate about supporting recovery.
• Lived experience of substance use is welcomed.
• Creative, initiative‑driven and committed to improving service quality.

• Starting salary £25,870 pro‑rated, progressing to £30,265.
