Youth Development Worker – Temporary (Agency)

About the role

Join a supported accommodation service in St. Austell as a Youth Development Worker. You will help young people aged 16‑25 who are experiencing homelessness to build confidence, develop life skills and move towards independent living.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support and key‑worker sessions.
• Create and review personalised support and action plans.
• Complete risk assessments and manage safeguarding concerns.
• Assist with tenancy sustainment, housing needs and benefits applications.
• Support access to education, training and employment opportunities.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to secure appropriate services.
• Prepare young people for successful move‑on into independent accommodation.

Required profile

• Experience working with or supporting young people.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and support planning.
• Understanding of mental health and wellbeing challenges faced by vulnerable youth.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, resilient and person‑centred approach.
