Youth Worker / Educational Support Officer (Temp‑to‑Perm)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Youth Worker / Educational Support Officer for a specialist school in Bolton. The role is a full‑time, temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent, ideal for recent graduates or experienced SEMH mentors who want to work both in‑school and in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and group support to students with SEMH needs.
• Deliver outreach activities outside the classroom to engage young people.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and teaching staff to maintain a calm, positive environment.
• Participate in regular CPD and safeguarding training.
• Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (2:2 or higher) or experienced SEMH mentor.
• Previous experience working in a UK school setting.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (within the last year).
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Own a vehicle and be prepared to obtain business insurance.
