About the role
This position is for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in a nursery setting, supporting a child with mobility and speech‑and‑language difficulties. The role starts in September and may continue until the end of the academic year.
Key responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to the SEN pupil throughout the nursery day.
- Adapt and differentiate activities in collaboration with the nursery teacher.
- Monitor and record the child’s progress and wellbeing.
- Liaise regularly with parents and the senior leadership team regarding development.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive environment that promotes confidence and learning.
Required profile
- Recent experience working with children, preferably in an SEN context.
- Confidence in delivering 1:1 support and building relationships quickly.
- Friendly, enthusiastic attitude and ability to commit five days a week from September to summer.
- Early Years qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
Required skills
- Understanding of early years curriculum and SEN strategies.
- Ability to differentiate tasks and adapt resources.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with staff, families, and leadership.
