1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs in a welcoming primary school in Aldershot. This full‑time, long‑term position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on a child's learning, confidence and overall development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one‑to‑one support throughout the school day.
• Assist the pupil with academic tasks, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Adapt learning activities to suit the pupil’s individual needs.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO and other professionals.
• Build a trusting relationship that encourages independence and active participation.

Required profile

• Experience working with children who have SEN in a school, care or youth‑work setting.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
