1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with complex additional needs in a specialist SEND unit at a primary school in Westminster, Victoria. The role starts in September 2026 and runs on a full‑time basis until at least July 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to the pupil, adapting activities to meet autism‑related sensory and communication needs.
• Assist the lead Teaching Assistant in planning and delivering the daily SEND curriculum.
• Implement behaviour‑management strategies and maintain a calm, structured environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and parents to monitor progress and adjust support plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in EYFS or KS1 settings.
• Previous experience supporting children with autism and complex SEND.
• Patient, resilient and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Strong behaviour‑management skills and a genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential.
