1:1 SEN Tutor – In‑person Tuition in Yeovil, Somerset

About the role

Quantum Scholars are seeking a caring and experienced SEN Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one, in‑person tuition for children and young people in Yeovil and the surrounding Somerset area. The role focuses on learners with Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related SEMH needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 in‑person tuition at pupils’ homes or suitable community settings.
• Plan and deliver personalised, interest‑led learning sessions.
• Use creative, practical approaches to engage learners and build confidence.
• Adapt sessions to each learner’s ability, emotional readiness and educational goals.
• Maintain brief records of session content, attendance and progress.
• Collaborate professionally with parents, carers and relevant professionals.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• Strong understanding of EBSA, ADHD and ASD.
• Calm, patient, nurturing and flexible approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with learners who find education challenging.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and positive outcomes for children.
• Legal right to work in the UK and ability to travel within Yeovil and surrounding areas.
