1:1 Teaching Assistant (Ages 11-16) – Full Time, Term Time

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a secondary school student aged 11‑16 with additional learning needs. This full‑time, term‑time‑only position is based in Huyton and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on a young person's academic and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one educational support to the assigned student throughout the school day.
• Adapt learning materials and teaching approaches to meet the student’s individual needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure consistent progress.
• Monitor and record the student’s achievements and areas for improvement.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience supporting young people, preferably in a secondary school setting.
• Previous experience in a 1:1 support role or working with pupils with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) is highly desirable.
• Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to individual student needs.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
