1:1 Teaching Assistant for Year 5 ASD Pupils – Enfield

About the role
This full‑time, long‑term position supports a Year 5 pupil with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in a friendly primary school in Enfield. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver a personalised support plan throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one assistance to the pupil, helping them stay focused during lessons.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support the pupil’s academic and personal development.
- Implement and adapt tailored support strategies in line with the SENCO’s guidance.
- Collaborate with classroom staff to ensure inclusive learning environments.
- Monitor and report on the pupil’s progress and wellbeing.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly ASD.
- Reliable, caring and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting pupils with complex needs.
- Ability to commute reliably to Enfield.
Required skills
- No specific technical skills required; focus is on interpersonal support and SEN experience.
