1:1 Teaching Assistant for Year 5 pupil with ASD

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary school in Enfield. The role starts in September and offers a full‑time, long‑term placement working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support during lessons to help the pupil engage and achieve academic goals.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
• Promote independence, positive behaviour, and social interaction.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider SEN team to deliver personalised support.
• Monitor progress and communicate updates to staff and parents.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD, in a primary school setting.
• Patient, caring, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Ability to build a trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Reliable and able to commute to Enfield.
