1:1 Teaching Assistant – KS2 (South Liverpool)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil in South Liverpool. You will work closely with the child, helping them engage with the curriculum and build confidence in a supportive primary school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Adapt KS2 curriculum tasks into accessible, engaging activities tailored to the pupil’s learning style.
• Provide calm, consistent support during lessons, helping the pupil manage frustration, anxiety or disengagement.
• Implement clear routines, visual prompts and structured brain breaks to maintain focus.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs and Randstad consultants to monitor progress against individual targets.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis or in an educational setting (or transferable experience from care, sports coaching or youth work).
• Patience, warmth and creativity in re‑engaging a child who loses focus.
• Proactive and intuitive, able to recognise signs of overwhelm and intervene positively.
• Reliable and committed, understanding the importance of consistency for the pupil.
