1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Enfield)

About the role

This part‑time, long‑term position supports a Year 3 pupil with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in a welcoming primary school in Enfield. Working from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday‑Friday, you will help the child engage with lessons, develop social skills and meet individual learning targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support throughout the school morning.
• Assist the pupil in accessing curriculum content and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies.
• Monitor progress and report observations to senior staff.
• Promote social interaction and independence in line with the pupil’s learning plan.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly ASD.
• Patient, adaptable and compassionate attitude.
• Ability to travel to Enfield and work on‑site.
• Strong communication skills for teamwork with teachers and SENCO.

Required skills

• Experience with SEN support strategies.
• Knowledge of ASD‑specific interventions.
