1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Salisbury)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional learning needs in a mainstream primary school in Salisbury. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help the child access the curriculum, build confidence and develop socially.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one academic support across all subjects.
• Adapt learning materials and resources to suit the pupil’s individual needs.
• Assist with behaviour management using positive strategies.
• Encourage active participation and engagement during lessons.
• Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to monitor progress and adjust support plans.

Required profile

• Patient, empathetic and resilient.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with children.
• Interest in education, psychology or special educational needs.
• Recent graduate or experienced teaching assistant (experience with ASD, behavioural challenges or learning difficulties is a plus).

Required skills
