1:1 Teaching Assistant – Yew Tree Primary School

About the role
The school is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a pupil with additional needs at Yew Tree Primary School, Halewood. This is a long‑term, part‑time placement focused on fostering learning, confidence and independence.
Key responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Assist the pupil in maintaining focus, engagement and progress in classroom activities.
- Implement behaviour and learning strategies set by the class teacher and SENCO.
- Offer emotional and pastoral support, encouraging positive behaviour and independence.
Required profile
- Experience supporting pupils with ADHD or SEND (desirable).
- Patient, calm, proactive and reliable.
- Strong behaviour management abilities.
- Commitment to a long‑term role.
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent school‑based experience.
