1:1 Year 6 SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with complex special educational needs in Liverpool. This full‑time, term‑time position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the child's learning and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Support a child with significant and varied SEN needs throughout the school day.
• Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to deliver tailored learning and care strategies.
• Help the child engage with learning activities, manage transitions, and develop social and emotional skills.
• Adapt approaches to meet sensory, communication, and behavioural needs.
• Assist with personal care and physical support if required.

Required profile

• Experience working with children with complex SEN (e.g., autism, medical needs, SEMH, or PMLD).
• Calm, patient, and flexible approach.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Genuine passion for inclusive education and making a difference.
• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (beneficial but not essential).
