18T Long Distance Multidrop HGV Driver – Grays

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is for an 18‑tonne long‑distance multimodal HGV driver based in Grays, Essex. You will operate an automatic FM Volvo sleeper cab with a curtain‑side tail lift, delivering palletised consignments across the UK and completing occasional night‑out runs.

Key responsibilities

• Collect consignments each morning, perform walk‑around checks and secure loads.
• Drive to multiple commercial premises, making deliveries or collections as scheduled.
• Communicate with customers ahead of arrival and follow any additional instructions within the standard 11‑hour shift.
• Log hours on a digital tachograph and maintain a valid CPC card.
• Complete night‑out assignments and record mileage for overtime pay.

Required profile

• Efficient, safety‑focused driver with sound working practices.
• Willingness to work occasional night‑out shifts.
• Ability to think independently and manage routes effectively.

Required skills

• Valid ADR licence for packages (beneficial but not mandatory).
• Digital tachograph proficiency.
• Up‑to‑date CPC card.
