2nd Line Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive 2nd Line Support Engineer to become the primary onsite IT presence at a busy secondary school in Wembley. You will work as part of a specialist education MSP, delivering reliable technical support to teachers, staff and students while collaborating with a remote team when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line support to staff and students across a dual‑campus secondary school.
• Manage incidents, service requests and technical issues in line with SLA targets.
• Support Microsoft 365 and Windows environments, including desktops and servers.
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy and device management via Intune and/or JAMF.
• Maintain Windows Server and Hyper‑V infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot networking components such as VLANs, Wi‑Fi and firewalls.
• Support Chromebooks, Apple devices and Windows desktops.
• Maintain school technology including smartboards and AV equipment.
• Work with school systems such as MIS and Edulink.
• Keep documentation and ticketing records up to date and build strong relationships with teaching staff and leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ IT support experience within a UK secondary school (essential).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
• Experience with Windows Desktop, Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Proficiency in managing devices with Intune and/or JAMF.
• Excellent troubleshooting and customer‑service skills.
• Strong communication skills and confidence supporting non‑technical users.
• Experience with school technologies such as MIS, Edulink, smartboards and AV equipment.
• Eligibility to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
