2nd Line Support Engineer – £28k-£32k

About the role

We are recruiting a 2nd Line Support Engineer for a growing Managed Service Provider based in Kent. The role combines remote troubleshooting with regular on‑site client visits, offering a varied technical environment across Microsoft 365, servers, networking and security.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line support for multiple client environments, acting as escalation point from 1st line.
• Troubleshoot networking fundamentals including VLANs, switching, routing and wireless.
• Administer firewalls, Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID and Microsoft 365 across several tenants.
• Manage devices with Microsoft Intune and Autopilot, apply Group Policy and configuration policies.
• Support virtualised platforms such as Hyper‑V, VMware and Proxmox.
• Maintain backup, disaster recovery and endpoint security solutions (MFA, EDR).
• Produce clear documentation and contribute to the knowledge base.
• Assist with infrastructure projects including cabling, wireless installs and CCTV where required.

Required profile

• Experience in an MSP or fast‑paced service desk environment.
• Strong 2nd line troubleshooting skills across Microsoft technologies.
• Good understanding of networking and security principles.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Full clean UK driving licence and willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
