3.5 Tonne Delivery Driver – Part‑time Contractor

About the role

We are looking for a reliable 3.5‑tonne delivery driver to join our team on a part‑time contractor basis in Wickford. You will be responsible for safely delivering and collecting goods while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5‑tonne vehicle in compliance with road traffic laws and company policies.
• Load, secure, transport and unload goods safely.
• Complete scheduled deliveries and collections within designated time frames.
• Perform daily vehicle safety and defect checks.
• Obtain customer signatures or electronic proof of delivery.
• Plan routes efficiently and communicate any delays or issues.
• Handle delivery paperwork and use handheld scanning devices where required.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service.
• Keep the vehicle clean and report any maintenance issues.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling.

Required profile

• Full UK Category B driving licence.
• No more than six penalty points.
• Available to start as soon as possible.

• Vehicle operation – 3.5‑tonne delivery vehicle.
• Handheld scanning device usage.
• Route planning.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £13.77‑£13.89.
• Enhanced overtime rates for Saturdays and Sundays.
