3rd Line Engineer - MSP

About the role

Join a leading UK technology specialist as a 3rd Line Engineer supporting Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments. You will work within the Tier 3 team, handling senior escalations and developing expertise in at least one technical domain such as security, backup, networking or cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage incident and request tickets, ensuring SLA compliance.
• Act as the first point of contact for Tier 2 escalations.
• Log and communicate support requests and alerts throughout their lifecycle.
• Monitor and maintain client infrastructure, responding proactively to alerts.
• Support client onboarding and off‑boarding processes.
• Meet individual and team KPI targets.
• Maintain clear, proactive communication with internal teams and clients.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure services, including virtual servers, backup & disaster recovery, networking, AVD and hybrid deployments.
• Hands‑on knowledge of current security technologies (AV, firewalls, CA policies, RBAC, managed threat response, identity threat detection, mail & web filtering).
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery processes.
• Solid understanding of internal networking (DHCP, DNS, NPS/RADIUS, switches, firewalls, wireless, VPN).
• Familiarity with cloud‑based identity and policy management (Intune, Entra, ABM).
• Experience with hypervisor platforms such as VMWare and Hyper‑V.
