7.5T Customer Delivery Driver, Installer Trainee

About the role

Join John Lewis as an Installation Trainee and work towards becoming a qualified home installation specialist. You will deliver and install large household items in customers' homes as part of a two‑person crew, driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle from the Altens Customer Delivery Hub.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the John Lewis brand by providing excellent customer service throughout each delivery.
• Load the vehicle with daily deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
• Respect customers' homes, handle unexpected situations, and find suitable solutions.
• Install furniture, appliances, sound systems, TVs and other large items efficiently and demonstrate their use.
• Stay updated on new products and technologies to perform the role effectively.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Manual C1 UK driving licence (maximum 6 points).
• DCPC or Driver Qualification Card by the first day of work.
• Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
• Customer‑facing experience with strong verbal communication skills.
• Good understanding of technology.
