Academic Tutor – Law, PPE & Global Issues Summer Programme

About the role

Oxbridge Summer Scholars is seeking enthusiastic academic tutors to join its two‑week residential programme at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Tutors will deliver university‑level teaching to high‑achieving international students aged 14‑19, focusing on Law, Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) and Global Issues.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging lectures and seminars on subject‑specific topics.
• Run Oxbridge‑style tutorials for individuals or small groups, encouraging independent argument development.
• Guide students through individual research projects from topic selection to final presentation.
• Prepare tailored teaching materials, reading lists and assessment feedback.
• Collaborate with the academic team to ensure a cohesive interdisciplinary curriculum.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in law, philosophy, politics, economics or related disciplines.
• Experience teaching or tutoring at university level or in elite academic programmes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to foster critical thinking.
• Willingness to work intensively on‑site for the duration of the two‑week programme.
