Academy Education Officer

About the role
The Academy Education Officer will lead, design and quality‑assure the education programme for the AWFC Academy, supporting both PGA and club‑funded pathways. Working closely with the Player Care Lead, you will ensure every player receives personalised academic support and that education partners are effectively coordinated.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the Academy’s education strategy, including delivery of the Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) and long‑term planning.
- Provide academic guidance to players and create individual learner plans with clear targets.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, colleges and national governing body education staff.
- Monitor, record and review student progress, behaviour and academic performance, implementing early‑intervention measures when needed.
- Collaborate with the Safeguarding team to ensure compliance with child‑protection policies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all education providers and partners.
Required profile
- Experience in delivering education programmes for young athletes or similar settings.
- Strong stakeholder‑management skills, able to liaise with schools, colleges and governing bodies.
- Understanding of safeguarding requirements and willingness to undergo enhanced DBS checks.
- Ability to develop and monitor individual learner plans.
