Academy Lead - AI, Emerging Skills, Tech, Data & Online

About the role

The Academy Lead will own the end‑to‑end learning and capability pathways for AI, emerging skills, technology, data and online functions at Asda. Reporting into the Learning & Development function, you will ensure that learning is simple, accessible and directly linked to business performance and transformation priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the capability strategy and learning pathways for AI, data and technology adoption across Asda.
• Partner with functional leaders, People Partners and subject‑matter experts to translate business priorities into learning requirements.
• Develop and deliver learning solutions that drive AI adoption, digital fluency, data literacy and technology capability.
• Govern learning quality, selecting appropriate delivery models and monitoring learner experience.
• Measure impact of capability development, learner engagement and business outcomes, providing insights for future investments.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering learning programmes for technology‑focused capabilities.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence functional leaders and SMEs.
• Analytical mindset to use performance, skills and learning data for prioritisation and impact reporting.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AI concepts and emerging technologies.
• Understanding of data literacy and digital transformation principles.
• Familiarity with learning governance and quality standards.
