Academy Physiotherapist / Sports Therapist (Casual Part-Time)

About the role

Coventry City Football Club is looking for an enthusiastic Academy Physiotherapist / Sports Therapist (casual part-time) to join the Academy Performance Support team, mostly on weekday evenings and weekends. Reporting to and working alongside the Head of Academy Performance Support, the post covers first aid, injury assessment and treatment and injury clinic support for academy players.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pitch-side emergency first aid and help with squad pre-game warm-up and activation, home and away, within scope of practice
• Assess and treat injured academy players and refer to primary care where necessary
• Assist in injury clinics and deliver programmes written with full-time staff, modifying as needed
• Act as medical lead for incidents requiring professional medical intervention when travelling on club transport
• Maintain medical records, clinical notes and paper documentation on the FIP system within 24 hours, in line with governing body guidelines
• Disseminate the Academy's Emergency Action Plan (EAP) to visiting teams and follow it at the Alan Higgs Centre and away sites
• Work with the wider academy multidisciplinary team and liaise with parents, coaches and medical staff on injuries, signposting to the appointment booking process
• Keep mandatory qualifications up to date (minimum: ITMMiF, FA Safeguarding, Club Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Health and Safety) and take part in a biannual appraisal and CPD
• Uphold the Academy Values and the staff, player and parent code of conduct

Required profile

• An enhanced DBS check is mandatory
• Ability to work part-time, mainly on weekday evenings and weekends
• Willingness to work in a high-performance sporting environment
