Account Director – Insurance Brokerage

About the role

We are supporting the Leeds office of a leading insurance broker in hiring an experienced Account Director. You will take ownership of an existing portfolio worth around £300,000 in annual income and work across a wide range of commercial insurance classes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, grow and retain a book of clients generating approximately £300k in revenue.
• Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with existing and new clients, handling premiums from £30k to £250k.
• Build a sustainable pipeline of new business across commercial insurance products.
• Ensure high quality, consistency and accuracy in all client interactions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet defined sales targets.

Required profile

• Proven track record of retaining and expanding business in the commercial insurance sector.
• Ability to cover a large geographic region and manage a busy diary effectively.
• Strong relationship‑building mindset with a genuine interest in client success.
• Broad knowledge of insurance risk and product lines.
• Experience with the Acturis platform is desirable.
• Professional qualifications such as CII or equivalent experience.
