Account Director – Marketing Agency

About the role

Our client is a well‑established independent marketing agency delivering integrated campaigns for national and international brands. They are seeking an experienced Account Director to lead a portfolio of strategic client accounts, drive growth and ensure high‑quality campaign delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain senior‑level client relationships as a trusted strategic partner.
• Lead the delivery of integrated, multi‑channel marketing campaigns across demand generation, ABM, sales enablement, digital, social, video and events.
• Identify and secure upsell, cross‑sell and new programme opportunities to grow existing accounts.
• Mentor and develop Account Managers and Account Executives.
• Oversee campaign planning, briefing and execution across multiple workstreams.
• Ensure marketing strategies align with client objectives and commercial goals.
• Prepare and review proposals for commercial accuracy and creative quality.
• Manage account forecasting, profitability and overall performance.
• Lead client presentations, strategic reviews and planning sessions.
• Support business development activity and agency pitches as required.

Required profile

• Significant experience within a marketing agency environment.
• Strong understanding of demand generation and customer acquisition strategies.
• Proven track record of developing and growing client accounts.
• Strategic thinking combined with commercial awareness and client leadership.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior account team members.
