Account Executive

About the role

Watson Fuels is looking for an Account Executive to own and grow a defined territory in the South West of England. This hybrid role combines field work with collaboration across depot, operations and planning teams, giving you full responsibility for building lasting customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a dedicated customer territory, making it your own patch.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with new and existing customers.
• Identify and convert opportunities to win new business and expand existing accounts.
• Serve as the primary commercial contact for your portfolio, handling pricing conversations within set guidelines.
• Collaborate with operations, planning and customer service to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and accurate CRM records.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends and local market shifts.
• Provide insights to shape local and regional sales strategy.
• Manage your diary proactively to follow up on every opportunity.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales or a strong customer‑facing role (retail, hospitality, call centre, logistics, etc.).
• Commercial mindset with a focus on building trust and delivering value.
• Organised, disciplined diary management and ability to work to targets and KPIs.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Customer‑first attitude and willingness to learn about the fuel sector.
