Account Handler – Insurance Client Portfolio

About the role

The Account Handler provides office‑based support to an Account Executive, managing the day‑to‑day operations of a personal lines insurance portfolio. You will be the first point of contact for client and provider queries, ensuring smooth service delivery and accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the smooth running of an assigned portfolio on a daily basis.
• Achieve agreed retention, cross‑selling and referral targets.
• Develop and nurture professional relationships with clients and insurers.
• Respond proactively to client, provider and internal enquiries.
• Resolve discrepancies in provider documentation before client delivery.
• Maintain accurate client records in line with system protocols.
• Provide professional telephone handling for internal and external contacts.

Required profile

• Experience with Acturis and E‑trade systems.
• Background in commercial insurance (office & surgeries, contractors, property owners, fleet).
• Ideal experience in professional indemnity, MLP and cyber lines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proactive, able to work under pressure and handle large information volumes.
• Strong team‑working, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Resilience and openness to constructive feedback.
