Account Manager – Gateshead (Permanent)

About the role

We are partnering with a respected global manufacturing and technology business to hire an Account Manager based in Gateshead. The role centres on managing an established portfolio of customers, building long‑term relationships and identifying growth opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Own and develop a portfolio of existing customer accounts, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience and act as a trusted advisor.
• Identify and maximise opportunities for account growth and cross‑selling.
• Create and execute account growth plans using CRM data.
• Collaborate with technical, operations and commercial teams to deliver optimal solutions.
• Proactively prospect new business within the territory and support wider business‑development initiatives.
• Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry through quotation, negotiation and closure.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Account Manager or in a similar customer‑facing sales role.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a full sales cycle and work collaboratively across functions.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented and comfortable working within a 36‑hour week.

Required skills

• Experience using a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
