Account Manager – Industrial Automation

About the role

Routeco is looking for an Account Manager to own a thriving territory in the South West of England. You will work directly with customers, understand their operations and help them achieve more through smarter automation and control solutions. The role combines field‑based relationship building with support from product, technical and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of existing customer accounts, becoming a trusted advisor.
• Identify customer needs and present commercially attractive, technically beneficial automation and control solutions.
• Grow sales by following up marketing leads, networking, and developing new opportunities within the territory.
• Plan and attend regular customer visits, collaborating with internal sales colleagues and product specialists.
• Monitor account activity, prioritize tasks and work towards agreed sales targets and business objectives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a sales, account management, business development or customer‑facing commercial role.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building and negotiation skills.
• Confidence engaging with customers at different organisational levels.
• GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
