Accountant – Client Services – Frome

About the role

Join a respected independent accountancy practice in Frome, supporting local businesses, entrepreneurs and established SMEs. You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality financial and tax services while helping clients make informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of business and individual clients, acting as the primary contact for day‑to‑day queries.
• Prepare and review year‑end accounts, VAT returns, management accounts and financial reporting packs for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Assist with corporation tax, self‑assessment compliance and ensure statutory filing deadlines are met.
• Support clients with budgeting, cash‑flow management, accounting system improvements and profitability analysis.
• Mentor trainees and junior accountants, review their work and collaborate with partners on complex assignments.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent substantial practice experience.
• Experience working within an accountancy practice with strong knowledge of accounts production and taxation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Required skills

• Proficiency with cloud‑based accounting platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
